Our Vision

Unsere Vision

Who We Are

Geschichte

In 2004, I came to Sri Lanka from Switzerland to work as a pilot for SriLankan Airlines. What began as a professional journey soon became something far deeper. During my time off, I was drawn to the ocean. As a passionate kitesurfer, I explored Sri Lanka’s coastline and discovered places where wind, water, and open space came together in a rare and beautiful harmony. Together with friends, we started simple kite gatherings—nothing elaborate, just people, nature, and the joy of being on the water. Word spread quickly, and soon people from around the world began to join. Out of this grew a vision: a place where people from all nations could come together through a shared passion, and where creation is not just spoken about, but experienced—through wind, waves, and life outdoors. Here in the elements, something shifts. Movement and stillness meet. Activities like kitesurfing, wing foiling, and kayaking are not only about freedom and adventure, but also an invitation to slow down, to be present, and to encounter God in a real and unforced way. Away from distraction, many rediscover a deeper sense of peace and clarity. Elements Beach & Nature Resort was born from this calling—shaped by a deep respect and awe for nature, for people, and for life itself. I am continually moved by the grace of God and the beauty of His creation. I believe we are created for relationship—with God and with one another—and to carry hope, love, truth, and forgiveness into the world. Elements is meant to be a blessing: a place to reconnect, to breathe, and to reflect on life’s deeper questions of origin, purpose, and destiny.

und da stehen wir heute...

Today, Elements has grown into a quiet hideaway for those who seek to reconnect with nature, with themselves, and with others. It is a place to slow down, to reflect on life’s deeper questions, and to rediscover a sense of rhythm beyond the noise of everyday life. Many who come here experience a renewed awareness of being part of something greater. At the heart of Elements is community. We value our team, our neighbors and the wider village. We invest time in relationships, in appreciation, and in growing together. Once a week, we gather, team members and often guests, to openly speak about challenges, and explore different perspectives shaped by culture, experience, and faith. Our connection to the local community is just as important to us. Through sports and value-based programs, we support local youth, offering guidance, opportunity, and long-term employment. In doing so, we aim to strengthen families and contribute to a more hopeful future. We are committed to living in respect of the natural environment that surrounds us. This means taking responsibility in practical ways by reducing our footprint, minimizing plastic, using solar energy, and creating our own compost from natural resources. Our gardens provide fresh fruits and vegetables, grown with care and in harmony with the land. Each morning, before the day begins, our team comes together to clean the beach. It’s a simple act, but a meaningful one, caring for the coastline, working side by side, often with a sense of joy. Even small things reflect our approach. “Walter,” our Sri Lankan bull, is part of that story, replacing machinery as a reliable and eco-friendly partner :-) He cares for the land, and reminds us that sustainable living can be both practical and grounded in tradition. But ultimately, Elements is about you. Whether you come to rest, to explore, or to seek something deeper - there is space here. Space to breathe, to be still, and perhaps to find clarity. Elements lives through the people who pass through it. Thank you for being part of the journey.
